Guest Speaker: Dr. Patricia McNamara
‘Care’ is an encompassing term that can incorporate the fulfilment of both the physical and practical needs of children as well as the emotional investments that parents and societies have in their children.
But not all children experience care during childhood – whether that is the absence of practical care, such as in the case of street and homeless children; children in abusive homes, or even children who are unable to experience particular forms of care due to disability or disease.
This workshop explored the experiences of children who lack ‘care’ and its implications.
